Global Biopharma Re-engages Thought Leader Select to Support Canadian KOL, Centers of Excellence Initiatives in Head and Neck Cancer

March 27, 2014 (CHAPEL HILL, NC) Thought Leader Select, a firm dedicated to supporting life sciences companies in their collaborative work with the medical community, has begun a strategic engagement in the area of head and neck cancer for the Canadian division of a top global biopharmaceutical company.

The client company chose North Carolina’s Thought Leader Select to assist them with upcoming and ongoing initiatives with oncology key opinion leaders based in Canada’s Centers of Excellence in head and neck cancer.   Headquartered in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina with consultants in the United States and Canada, Thought Leader Select provides research and consulting services to companies in the life sciences industry, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics companies. These custom-tailored services support the necessary and critical industry outreach to and collaboration with leading medical experts, the health care professionals that advance treatment options and promote better public health at regional, national, and global levels.

For the new strategic engagement in head and neck cancer, Thought Leader Select’s in-house research team will assess the skills and dozens of national key opinion leaders across Canada’s provincial health care systems, as well as detail the research and treatment activities across national centers of excellence in the disease area. In addition to enabling engagement planning with key opinion leaders and hospital leadership at centers of excellence, the profiling work will serve as an objective, validated analytics foundation for understanding the professional social networks of the key opinion leaders through Thought Leader Select’s Professional Impact Network (PINs) mapping service.  With PINs, Thought Leader Select shows known collaborations among KOLs in key areas of thought leadership that advance medical science, such as publishing in scientific journals, basic and clinical research, and advisory board work.

“Thought Leader Select is proud to continue work with a valued client in another area where we can help with better quality of life for patients,” stated Neil Mellor, the company’s global business development consultant based in Toronto. “Our company is known for its work across multiple therapeutic areas, and this group of projects continues our strong legacy in oncology. In this critical phase of work, we will be able to identify and profile the key opinion leaders and leading centers where this company can continue their product development for the benefit of the next generation of people suffering from head and neck cancer.”
