Digital Opinion Leader (DOL) Identification & Profiling
Over the last decade, digital opinion leaders (DOLs) have taken a critical role in shaping therapeutic spaces. Life sciences companies know that DOLs can be experts that they understand to be traditional KOLs, but that they can also embody a variety of individual stakeholders in healthcare, including treating physicians, allied health professionals, medical researchers, patient advocates, and healthcare journalists. Even more, these companies also understand that institutional stakeholders, such as hospitals, health systems, clinics, centers of excellence, medical societies, patient advocacy groups, and health plans can also play key roles in educating the public and promoting better health.
At Thought Leader Select, we bring together the human intelligence of our research professionals and the artificial intelligence of industry-leading social listening tools to provide a unique look at therapeutic areas and geographies. Our clients benefit from an approach that takes into account the variety of medical conversations by topic, where those conversations are happening online, in places like social media, forums, blogs, and websites, as well as who are the people, groups, and entities driving those conversations. We tailor our work to fit channel-specific strategies for scientific exchange, educational partnerships, and medical engagement. Most importantly, we help clients avoid data dumps and leverage carefully curated data sets for efficient engagement with DOLs.

Patient Journey/Decision Maps
Voice of patient research demands that healthcare providers understand the challenges and decision points that patients must face and mitigate, in order to improve their experience and keep them engaged.
Providers think of the patient journey as ongoing sequence of care events, where a patient must follow from their point of access into the health clinic or system, continuing toward diagnosis, care, and maintenance whenever applicable. When the patient journey does have an actual end point, it’s usually via outpatient care or at-home follow-up. Since many of us require care for a variety of diseases and conditions in a lifetime, In reality, the patient journey is and engagement should be ongoing.
Patient journey and decision mapping at Thought Leader Select addresses the complexities of patient decision-making—patient capacity for decision-making, provider interaction, insurance direction, family and community, and even social media influence—with a sophisticated, customizable strategic approach. In our work, we consider care pathways, longitudinal data, qualitative patient insights, and much more, as we help providers increase patient acquisition and retention.
